A Dandadan Episode 5 Moment That Is a Nightmare for Voice Artists
Spoiler Alert !!!
Spoilers for Dandadan Ep 5.
In episode 4 of Dandadan, Momo Ayase and Okarun successfully defeat Turbo Granny by using various methods and ploys. Both of them barely survive the onslaught of the yokai’s powers. After the deal is done, Okarun and Momo return to Seiko Ayase’s place and have crab dinner, during which Seiko demands to see Okarun’s junk, which the boy vehemently denies.
The boy noted that his junk was already back. However, in episode 5, the audience realizes that Okarun still has his jingle bells missing. With much patience, Okarun manages to confess his condition to Momo, who could only respond with roaring laughter.
The duo goes back to Seiko’s house again, where the granny asks Okarun how he did not notice that his reproductive organs were missing. She clarified that last night, she had wanted to take a look for this exact reason. In the background, Momo could be seem rolling around on the floor while laughing continuously, almost to the point of stopping her breath. Momo Ayase’s continuous laughter can be tough for almost any voice actor to attempt, but not Abby Trott.
Momo Ayase’s Voice Actress was Born Prepared for the Hilarious Episode 5 Scene
Popular voice actress Abby Trott is the cast for Momo Ayase in the English dubbed version of Danadan. Some of her other notable works include Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer, Shizuka Mikazuka in Zom 100, Yoh Asakura in Shaman King 2021, and more.
After episode 5 of Dandadan aired, Abby Trott revealed the most random yet interesting fact about a behind-the-scenes moment. The voice actress shared that their director had asked her if she wanted to save the scene to work on later since it was vocally stressful. Trott, to her credit, completely denied delaying the recording because she had been waiting for this moment all week.
Momo Ayase’s hearty laughter in Dandadan is a scene that can relieve almost every ounce of tension from your body. Trott has embodied her personality very well in the scene, as the laughter is not a malicious joke on Okarun but a simple act of pouring one’s heart out due to the simple hilarity of the situation. The animation of the girl literally rolling on the floor also adds to the zest of the scene.
Dandadan manga is available to read on Viz Media, and the anime is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
