DB3 Boxing Trio returns to Norfolk for huge November card at Scope Arena

DB3 Boxing Trio returns to Norfolk for huge November card at Scope Arena

NORFOLK, VA (WAVY) — Friday, Nov. 8 will be a time stamp to remember for boxing in Hampton Roads, as the Davis brothers are coming home in a big way.

Keyshawn, Kelvin, and Keon Davis will all be fighting on the same card for the first time in their professional careers, as the trio will highlight a Scope Arena boxing card on TopRank ESPN.

This is being labeled as the biggest boxing event Hampton Roads has seen since Pernell ‘Sweet Pea’ Whitaker retained his WBC Welterweight Championship against James McGirt in 1994.

The introductory press conference for the event took place Thursday, and each brother said they can’t wait to make that walk to the ring.

“That walkout is going to be crazy. I think it’s going to hype me up, like ‘Oh yeah, I’m ready to fight,'” Keyshawn Davis said.

“I thought about it,” Kelvin Davis said. “I feel like I’m going to be nervous, but I’m nervous every fight. It’s going to be nothing for me to handle. I feel like I’m going to feed off the crowd. If I throw any type of punch, the crowd is going to go ‘ooohhh’ at anything, so any ooh or ahh I hear, I’m taking advantage of that.”

“I definitely have thought about it,” Keon Davis said. “I haven’t made a full decision yet, but it’s going to be special for sure. … This is the best thing that I could have, but on my brothers’ card, homecoming, I haven’t fought at home in eight years, so this is going to be great.”

Keyshawn and Kelvin Davis both sit as undefeated prospects in the lightweight & welterweight divisions, respectfully, while Keon Davis is making his professional boxing debut.
