Demon Slayer Gets Called Out by One Piece Fans for Season 4 Finale’s Disaster After “Vibing to the Song” Simply Wasn’t Enough 1

It isn’t uncommon to witness spats between different anime fandoms. From storyline to characters, there is a constant tug of war when it comes to perspectives. In a recent turn of events, Demon Slayer faced flak from the One Piece fandom for Muzan’s slow-paced entry. Some even compared it to an Indian soap opera.

Although both series have their arch villains, the slow-paced entries of these antagonists are a hit or miss. While Muzan’s entry was dramatic, Imu’s slow-paced walk was rather more impactful as fans pointed out.

One Piece fans trolled Muzan’s slow-paced entry in Demon Slayer

Muzan Kibutsuji is the arch-villain of the series Demon Slayer, written by Koyoharu Gotouge. Apart from being the oldest demon in the series, he is also one of the most powerful demons in the series. He’s responsible for turning several innocent humans into demons through his Blood Curse. However, there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Muzan’s regeneration and manipulation of his demons make him a formidable character in the series. His overarching presence as a villain was exaggerated in the final season of the series. In Season 4 Episode 8, his relations with the Ubuyashiki clan are made clear. His entry into the Ubuyashiki mansion is nothing short of dramatic.

While it was well-received by some fans, others trolled it for its slow-paced nature. An X user @JohnnySpittin criticized Muzan’s entry as a reply to fans hating on Imu’s slow-paced scene in One Piece.

Another X user noted how Muzan’s background song was far more impactful than his entrance into the scene.

Muzan’s similarity to MJ isn’t surprising but this user’s hilarious take on his entry took it to another level.

Both series are similar in their portrayal of an arch-villain. While the slow-paced entry of Muzan was dramatic, it was brutally trolled by One Piece fans. Furthermore, the overlooking of the slow-paced plot and the entry of Imu in One Piece highlights the toxicity of the series’ fanbase.

Imu’s slow-paced plot in One Piece is stretched out

Be it gender or identity, Imu’s character has raised several burning questions for the fanbase. Imu sits at the pinnacle and controls the events in the series. From destroying the Lulusia Kingdom to controlling the Gorosei, they hold unprecedented power and strength. While their ambiguous identity and gender draw anticipation, the frustration is often overlooked.

Imu’s ambiguity and mysteriousness have created anticipation among fans. While their identity is unknown, their gender seems to be a burning question. This holds especially true with One Piece‘s episode 1118. The character’s shocking voice reveal coupled with the anonymity of the voice actor had fans deducting out the possibilities.

Muzan’s entry was slow-paced yet dramatic. Despite its criticism, the scene reflected stunning visuals and excellent animation quality. Imu’s entry differed in its ability to sustain the element of mystery and ambiguity while maintaining the character’s impact. However, One Piece fandom’s trait of overlooking flaws and claiming perfectionism is toxic and unwarranted.

Demon Slayer and One Piece are available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The mangas are available for reading on Viz Media.
