Among some of the most unconventional shows that TLC has to offer is Sister Wives, the reality TV show following Kody Brown and his wife Robyn Brown, along with his ex-wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine, whom he describes as his spiritual wives.
The show has been ongoing for over a decade and recently came out with its 19th Season, following the events after Brown’s three ex-wives ended their respective relationships with him. The shift has fueled rumors that Kody may be courting a new wife to keep the show alive and satisfy his only remaining spouse.
Kody Brown’s Rumored to Be Courting Again to Save Sister Wives
Ahead of Sister Wives Season 19 premiere and after Season 18 conclusion, rumors started swirling that Kody Brown might be courting a new wife to save the reality TV show, especially after his three ex-wives decided to move on from their spiritual union.
Following their split, rumors started emerging about Brown potentially seeking a new wife. While past speculation included names like Leah Marie Brown and Bonnie Dwyer, recent rumor centers on Amber Smith, allegedly a Las Vegas waitress whom Brown reportedly met in a casino.
It is not the first time the Sister Wives star found himself surrounded by such rumors. However, insiders have alleged that he considered courting a new wife to keep Robyn Brown happy and save the show after his three ex-wives decided to walk away from the polygamous relationship.
Rumors also swirled around that the couple traveled to Mexico to potentially meet a fifth wife ahead of Season 18. However, nothing concrete suggests that the couple actually did something regarding it.
With Season 19 coming to an end soon, any involvement of a fifth wife as of now seems unlikely, considering Brown has previously expressed his feelings towards the polygamy practice, suggesting that he no longer fully supports the lifestyle he once embraced.
Kody Brown Had No Interest in Pursuing Polygamy Anymore
Kody Brown, who once dreamed of living harmoniously as a married polygamous man, has shared his shifted perspective towards marriage in recent years.
“The idea of ever marrying again after the experience I’ve had, there’s no reason for me to do that,” the Sister Wives star told People in an interview. He further stated, “I feel like I’ve hit the bottom of a deep swimming pool, but I’ve pushed off and am headed to the surface.”
Brown shared how he believed the “plural marriage” to be idyllic with his wives and children, but the reality was far from his expectations, as he further expressed during the conversation,
I went in with these ideas about how idyllic plural marriage was going to be — but it was really hard — Meri and I clashed on everything.
Season 19 of the show continues to follow up on the broken dynamic of their family, as Meri Brown seeks an official end to their spiritual marriage and Janelle Brown firmly rejects Kody Brown’s attempts at reconciliation. His ex-wife Christine Brown has also moved on to a new relationship and is even considering marriage.
