Tite Kubo’s Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is one of the most popular and has instantly become a fan-favorite project. The anime series had a sub-par ending back in 2012, but now it has a triumphant return as the series had the most glorious return. Along with bringing unparalleled hype and adrenaline-pumping music.
The show was made even better as the mangaka was directly involved with the show, and he utilized every opportunity to ensure that he featured the best aspects of his work. In a recent episode of the manga, the author decided to undo the death of one of the most famed characters of the show.
The idea was so bad it compelled the author to give its character a second chance at life. Interestingly enough, Tite Kubo was following in the footsteps of Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto, where he had to go back on his decision to kill a fan-favorite character that would have probably sparked immense outrage in the fan community.
Tite Kubo Had To Undo Byakuya’s Death To Avoid Bleach Fans Outrage
Tite Kubo has done a magnificent job following Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War; the series has been full of gore, eye-pleasing animation, and music that will recall the hype following the original show during the Big Three era.
The series has been a fan-favorite as they glue their eyes to the screen watching the factions going to war. Although the show has received enormous love from the fans, it has featured some decisions by Kubo-Sensei that may not be appreciated by the fandom.
One such decision was the idea to let Byakuya, the Captain of the 6th Division of Gotei 13, live. As fans would remember, during his epic battle against As Nodt, he was outmatched by his foe, and all hope seemed to be lost. Interestingly enough, everything clearly indicated that death was knocking on Byakuya’s door.
However, Tite Kubo and the plot armor saved the special character; even fans thought it was time for the beloved character to say goodbye. Everything about the scene was fantastic; the character who acted all high and mighty was on his knees, battered and bruised, with his pride shattered in pieces.
However, the emotional charge of the scene was ruined as the mangaka felt it was better to let the character survive to tell the tale about his humiliation. Even a fan on X gave their hot take that Byakuya should have died in his fight and his final words would have made the story more impactful.
This idea was similar to how Masashi Kishimoto decided to let Might Guy undo the final consequence of the Eight Inner Gates. During the battle, several instances were present where it seemed that he had drawn his last breath.
One instance was where his spiritual pressure could not be felt by other Soul Reapers as well. However, Kirinji, a member of the royal guards of Zero Squad, saved him, ruining the perfect ending to his story.
Masashi Kishimoto Decided To Strip Might Guy From “The Power of Youth”
Much like Byakuya, Might Guy is one of the most popular side characters from Naruto. Ardent fans of the show would remember that at the peak of the Great Fourth Shinobi War, Madara Uchiha had defeated both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, turning the tide of the war.
All hope seemed to be lost, until Might Guy decided to go against the Ghost of the Uchiha and release the Eight and Final Gate. The forbidden Ninjutsu rewarded him with overwhelming strength that held the power to take down his foe, but in exchange, it would take his life. Hence, the Eighth Gate is called the Gate of Death.
For a brief moment, fans thought that Guy might have beaten the antagonist and ended the war. However, Madara survived and praised him for being the strongest Taijutsu user in all of the Four Villages and the foes he has faced over the years.
As a token of respect, he decided to kill him before his ninjutsu would do the job. However, Naruto managed to come right just in time to avoid the final result of the ninjutsu. Sadly, the decision was not the right one because, more than his life, the technique stripped him of “The Power of Youth.”
Hence, fans are somewhat disappointed because both mangakas have followed a similar decision in their magnum opus, where both characters avoided their deaths but had to live without something they were once very proud of!
