The Speed actress confessed that she always denies intimate scenes as it would be extremely uncomfortable for her to see herself having s*xual intercourse on-screen.
I’m not the kind of person who says, ‘I’m gonna tape myself having s*xual intercourse cos I’m gonna look good!’ I don’t want to know what my best angles are. Don’t wanna see it. Don’t want to hear it. Therefore, I’m not going to do it on film.
Sandra Bullock also added that she has always attempted to pick more unconventional roles in her career. She admitted that most of her career “was a fight” as she has always tried to steer away from typical and generic female characters. Despite starring in a wide variety of roles, Bullock also thanked comedy for being a significant contributor to her filmography.
Sandra Bullock had an awkward experience while filming The Proposal
Although Sandra Bullock openly refuses to do intimate scenes in her films, she had an iconic nude scene in The Proposal. It is worth noting that the specific scene did not have anything steamy going on between the lead pair, but Bullock had one of her most awkward experiences while filming it.
The Proposal is regarded among the most popular romantic comedies featuring excellent chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. The 2009 film is also popular for a memorable and hilarious scene where a nude Bullock, searching for a towel, accidentally slips and falls on Reynolds, who was bare-bodied after returning from a run.
When Sandra Bullock appeared in About Last Night Podcast with Adam Ray, she recalled that it was filmed in a closed set with limited staff. Additionally, they also had flesh-colored coverings for their privates. But the situation became very embarrassing when the director suddenly shouted an inappropriate detail before everybody.
When they’d say cut, we couldn’t really move. He was on his back with his knees up, and I’m on the floor just sort of resting on his knees, just waiting, and you don’t wanna look and we couldn’t really move. Then, I hear Anne Fletcher from the darkness go, ‘Ryan, we can see your ball sack!’ I’m like, ‘Oh God!’ because you wanna look down but I’m like, ‘Don’t look down. Don’t look down.’
Fortunately, the Deadpool actor was very cool with the mishap and handled the situation skillfully. Sandra Bullock added that she agreed to film the scene in the first place as she had immense trust in Reynolds- “I knew I was in the presence of safety.”
Secondly, the Bird Box star also asserted that she would have never done the scene if it was only to add more glamor to the plot. She knew that the scene was funny and equally important for the film’s story.
