Dragon Age: The Veilguard – How to Change Your Appearance

This is a quick guide on how to change your appearance in the latest BioWare project, Dragon Age: The Veilguard. After spending a decade working on the project, the gaming community can expect the game developers to put in extra work and effort to make this highly anticipated sequel a definitive next-generation gaming experience.

Looks and appearances may not mean much to the average player, however, some players take plenty of time and consideration about how their characters will appear in the game. Fortunately, there is no such thing as a point of no return in this regard, and the process couldn’t be simpler.

It is time for players to let their inner fashionista take over for the character creation part.

Character creators have been a common trend for more recent games like Hogwarts Legacy, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and many more; however, these games could not hold the candle next to what BioWare has in store for Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

New players will be greeted with a character creator interface during the game’s introduction and will have the opportunity to design Rook down to the most minute detail.

From the head shape, hair color, length, body build, height, and more, the game developers thought of it all. Players must be cautious about their choices since how they dress Rook will reflect how they wish to appear in-game.

Tip

Players cannot alter or make any changes to their race or class after the initial character creator menu in the introduction.

It is worth noting that the game’s length is considerably long, and players may want to change how Rook will look from time to time. Fortunately, players can freely customize Rook’s appearance in The Lighthouse. Players can head upstairs to the infirmary room and approach the Mirror of Transformation to reconfigure their appearance.

Once they have interacted with the mirror, they will be greeted with the same user interface they saw during the introduction and character creator section. Players can adjust the tattoos, hair color, and hairstyle of their Rook.

This is a welcome feature in a role-playing game, especially with a player base that does not want to be tethered to one thing and to try other options in their playthroughs.

Rook Can Be Anything the Players Wants Them to Be in The Veilguard

The customization features in this Dragon Age sequel are truly impressive.

Players will be pleased to know that nothing they do in the initial character creator menu is permanent, except for a few exceptions like being unable to change the faction, class, and lineage. Appearances can be a great driving force and encourage players to play even longer to try out different outfits and pieces.

Some may not value how a character appears in a game but looks can make a good playthrough even more fun. This is a nice change of pace for modern games. You can even transmog your equipment.

BioWare likely wanted the gaming community to be part of the story rather than experiencing it as a spectator. Players can look at Rook and realize they are a figment of their imagination that they have manifested into the game.
