Dragon Ball Super Desperately Needs to Bring Back the Anime for the Sake of Vegeta Fans After What DAIMA Might be Planning

Dragon Ball is arguably the most popular franchise in the community, captivating generations of kids with the iconic Goku and Vegeta rivalry. Vegeta is arguably the most influential character in the series, inspiring numerous fans to celebrate his Saiyan Pride.

Akira Toriyama introduced Vegeta, who continually pushed his limits to uphold his Saiyan pride and catch up to Goku. Sadly, the fan-favorite Saiyan wasn’t able to surpass Kakarot in the famous DBZ series; however, Dragon Ball Super did feature many iconic moments that left many Vegeta fans satisfied.

With the upcoming Dragon Ball DAIMA highly anticipated release for this fall, Z fighters are set to return to the big screen. Amid all the hype of DAIMA‘s release, Vegeta fans could find themselves disappointed if Toei ends up following Toriyama’s original vision.

How Dragon Ball DAIMA Might Incite Vegeta Fans’ Fury

With Dragon Ball Daima making its highly anticipated premiere later this Fall, Toei carries forward Akira Toriyama’s lasting legacy, ensuring it lives on forever. Interestingly, fans can expect to see some similarities between DB Daima and DB GT.

Although Dragon Ball GT might not be as renowned as DBZ or DBS, the series is famous for featuring the iconic SSJ4 transformation and thrilling antagonists. Dragon Ball DAIMA will feature the original story of Goku in the nebulous Demon Realm before he and the rest of Dragon Ball’s cast find themselves transformed into mini-kid versions of themselves.

The DAIMA’s production team has also confirmed that the fan-favorite character, Vegeta, will be along for the ride. Unfortunately, DB fans who are optimistic about seeing significant character development for the Prince of Saiyan should set some realistic expectations for themselves.

While it wouldn’t be accurate to refer to DAIMA as a remake or reboot of DB: GT, many fans are convinced that the new series will use GT’s treatment of Vegeta as a blueprint. If this speculation does come true, Vegeta fans can expect their beloved character’s role to potentially be reduced to a background character, which raises tons of concerns about his legacy.

Not to mention, Vegeta largely goes overlooked in Dragon Ball GT and characters like Uub and Pan receive more spotlight. Vegeta is regarded as the strongest Saiyan after Goku, whose hard work and determination to become the strongest has captivated many fans with the series.

Although a final showdown featuring Vegeta Mini assisting Goku Mini and Shin would thrill fans, it still falls short of the character spotlight they desire. Interestingly, there are tons of rumors about Vegeta actually achieving the Super Saiyan 3 transformation in Dragon Ball DAIMA, which would be incredibly exciting, but should only be taken with a grain of salt.

One Simple Method to Elevate Vegeta’s Character in Dragon Ball Super

Throughout the series, the legendary mangaka introduced many great antagonists that left a long-lasting impression on the audience. Akira Toriyama introduced Frieza as the ultimate villain in the DB series. Frieza was responsible for the enslavement and subsequent extinction of the entire Saiyan race.

At the end of DBS, fans were left shocked after Beerus resurrected Frieza, leaving many to question the God of Destruction’s judgment. Although Vegeta did manage to overpower Golden Frieza back in DBS, he failed to emerge victorious in their showdown.

With Vegeta’s Ultra Ego and Black Frieza transformation, Toei Animation has created a perfect stage for our fan-favorite Saiyan to finally surpass Goku. The Prince of Saiyans disclosed his motivation to seek strength is to annihilate Frieza.

Indeed, Vegeta’s revenge on Frieza will draw back many fans, eager to witness the highly anticipated clash between the two iconic characters. Vegeta’s Ultra Ego transformation has yet to make its animation debut; however, Toei Animation seems to have set the stage for it against Frieza.

Dragon Ball is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
