However, the most notable thing that any fan can see right through is the insane production values and passion put into it. The animation, sound direction, and overall cinematic brilliance that DAIMA has brought have left viewers truly flabbergasted. But now you might wonder what could have been their motivation to revive this franchise in such grandeur.

Despite being a renowned anime studio, Toei Animation must have learned a thing or two from their below-average adaptation of Dragon Ball Super. The series received a lot of flak about its picture quality and production flaws that seem to have stuck into the studio’s psyche. So naturally one can assume, that their attempt to perfect Dragon Ball DAIMA is a conscious avoidance of the mistakes made in Super.

Most of the issues that had befallen Dragon Ball Super seemed to be rooted in the production committee’s tight scheduling of episodes. It resulted in color design, character design, and general quality being way less than ideal. So quite unsurprisingly, Toei has given the top-tier treatment to Dragon Ball DAIMA. At least as far as we can see now, the priorities of Toei surely have shifted in a way that is satisfying all the Dragon Ball fans.

This now may sound like a major claim, but DAIMA has apparently become the top priority for Toei Animation, surpassing even their classic franchise One Piece. Now, the studio is in a position to not make the same mistakes as was done with Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT as they are very focused on bringing DAIMA to the fullest. This further underlines how much Toei wants to be able to do justice to the legendary Dragon Ball series.

For fans, DAIMA is truly on a totally different level as compared to the previous Dragon Ball adaptations. People are claiming that DAIMA executes all of its narrative different ideas a lot better than the rest. Putting One Piece on the side bench (to increase its animation quality), Toei has now all the time in the world to make the best-ever new-gen Dragon Ball adaptation that all the fans of the series wish for.

And their investment in DAIMA is certainly paying off, with fans and critics alike praising its beauty and craftsmanship. It seems like Toei did not make a mistake in deciding to favor DAIMA while temporarily placing One Piece. After all, the end result is definitely a show that deserves all the applause – DAIMA is just beautiful!

Dragon Ball DAIMA is available to watch on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
