There’s plenty of damp weather on the way, with the Met Office predicting a wave of “anticyclonic gloom” will grip the UK.
Parts of the country could see lows approaching 7C by the weekend, with a band of rain approaching at around the same time, according to forecasts.
As temperatures start to slide and conditions turn wetter, drivers will likely have to grapple with the issue of misted-up windows.
This irritating problem occurs when damp air meets the cold panes of glass causing it to condense, especially as the temperature rises again in the morning.
Most cars now have a dashboard button which directs the airflow from the heater towards the windshield to help clear it.
But many motorists can find this quite time-consuming and annoying.
Fortunately, a driving instructor from The Complete Theory Test Kit shared some top tips on how to de-fog your windscreen efficiently and easily.
Speaking on the firm’s TikTok channel, the expert explained that you shouldn’t actually put the heater on at full whack if you want to cut down on the time it takes.
They said: “The reason you use hot air is due to the difference in temperature inside and outside of your car.
“In wet weather, if you have heated windscreens, turn them on.
“Alternatively, use hot air conditioning and point this at your windscreen.
“Gradually increase the heat every few minutes to clear the windscreen.”
Social media commenters loved the handy advice.
One wrote: “Probably blow people’s mind here but you can use air con hot.
“It dries the moisture.”
Another added: “Hot or cold works for me, as long as the A/C is on it’ll clear within seconds.”

And it could be a vital tip, as driving without your windscreen properly cleared can land you in hot water.
Failing to de-fog fully could result in you being handed £2,500 fine and three licence points.
