After enthralling fans for over 25 years, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is arguably the most renowned anime series, captivating fans worldwide through its epic tale of adventure and friendship. Despite the long list of 1000+ chapters and manga, Oda-sensei has yet to unveil several mysteries of the One Piece world, keeping fans eager for more.

While One Piece asks for a lot of commitment from viewers, in return it leaves them enchanted by Oda-sensei’s narrative and Luffy’s journey to become the King of the Pirates. Despite holding the record for the highest-selling manga series globally, the anime falls short in one aspect that may surprise many One Piece fans.

Interestingly, Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece doesn’t even rank among the Top 10 longest-running anime list and is surpassed by the likes of many iconic titles, which, to haters, make One Piece look inferior.

One Piece Missing Top 10 Highlights a Lack of One Key Principle

Indeed, enthralling fans for over decades without leaving a moment of boredom is a notable feat for any mangaka. In the celebration of Eiichiro Oda‘s One Piece’s immense influence over 25 long years, The Japan Anniversary Association officially recognized July 22 as ‘One Piece Day’.

Despite Oda-sensei’s notable feats, fans might be surprised to learn that the anime shorts rank among the Top 10 longest-running anime, leading some critics to highlight One Piece’s lower position. Interestingly, the Top 10 longest-running anime list includes some iconic titles such as Doraemon, Pokemon, and Shinchan, evoking strong nostalgia.

Some anime fans might be astonished to learn that their fan-favorite childhood show Doraemon (1979 series) managed to garner the longest tenure of the franchise. It ran for over twenty-six years before coming to an end in 2005. Another iconic title, Pokemon, also tops the Top 10 list, highlighting its enormous fanbase and impact over generations of kids through decades.

Battling through highs and lows, Ash and Pikachu’s journey to become the Pokemon Master showcased their extraordinary bond as best friends and partners. While Ash’s run in the anime ended after 1,232 episodes and 25 years, the prequel named Pokémon Horizons will now continue the show’s legacy.

Apart from those two public favorite titles, Shinchan ranks in the Top 3 longest-running anime, taking everyone by surprise. The Top 10 longest-running anime list as follows:

Crayon Shin-Chan‘s anime started in 1992 and has currently aired 1,200 episodes. One Piece‘s ranking as inferior to all Top 10 longest-running anime reflects Eiichiro Oda’s one shortcoming in comparison to such iconic titles.

Every mangaka acknowledges that manga or anime is the medium for entertaining kids, where the creator focuses on earning the attention of the young audience, which ends up establishing the show’s long-built legacy. Doraemon, Pokemon, and even Shinchan, who primarily focuses on enthralling generations of young kids, has played a significant role in building their legacy.

Although Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece will definitely continue to earn notable feats for several following years, the show building a vast legacy like all the current Top 10 longest-running anime is an unattainable task for the franchise, which can’t be overlooked.

After 25 Years, Eiichiro Oda Unveils the Mysterious One Piece Character

In Chapter 1122, the mangaka showcased the mysterious figure from the forgotten void century, Joyboy, leaving many readers stunned. During the Egghead Island Arc, the Five Elder’s immense strength left many fans questioning whether Luffy’s crew could triumph over their opponents.

However, thanks to Joyboy’s surprising assistance, Luffy and his crew managed to escape Egghead Island from the Five Elders, heading to the Elbaf Island.

Joyboy’s Haki is now crowned as the strongest Conqueror Haki, surpassing the likes of Shanks, Roger, Garp, and Whitebeard. On top of that, Joyboy’s Conqueror Haki single-handedly made Imu, the secret ruler of the entire One Piece world, bend a knee and let fear take over despite being miles away from the battlefield.

Joyboy’s Haki even nullified Imu’s devil fruit power and teleported Four Elders back to Mary Geoise. Imu was so furious after sensing Joyboy’s Haki that he instantly assassinated Saint Saturn for the mission’s failure.
