Elon Musk responds after 'SNL' star claims he made her cry

(WJW) – Elon Musk has responded after “Saturday Night Live” star Chloe Fineman claimed he made her cry when he hosted the show in 2021.

Fineman made the claim in a now-deleted TikTok video posted on Monday after Musk bashed this past Saturday’s cold open sketch, which featured former cast member Dana Carvey as Musk.

Early on Sunday, Musk claimed on X that “SNL has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality. Their last-ditch effort to cheat the equal airtime requirements and prop up Kamala before the election only helped sink her campaign further.”

“They are so mad that @realDonaldTrump won,” he added later the same day. In a separate post, Musk claimed that Carvey’s impression of him “just sounds like Dana Carvey.”

Musk, who supported Trump in the presidential race, had reportedly made large donations to organizations backing the president-elect’s campaign and appeared with him at campaign stops.

Musk, however, wasn’t always so critical of “SNL,” having agreed to host an episode in 2021.

But Fineman, in her TikTok post, suggested that Musk was quite rude to the crew in the days leading up to the show.

“I’m the cast member that he made cry,” Fineman said in a TikTok on Monday. “He’s the host that made someone cry.”

The post has since been deleted, but E! News posted portions of it in a video on YouTube.

“You’re clearly watching the show,” Fineman said, referring to Musk’s criticism of Saturday’s episode. “Like, what are you talking about?”

Fineman claimed the incident took place a few days before the broadcast of the Musk-hosted episode. She alleged that she stayed up all night writing a sketch and was so excited to get Musk’s feedback.

“You stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla,” Fineman recalled. “It’s not funny.”

Fineman added that she thought Musk was kidding at first but then realized he was being serious.

“Then you started pawing through my script, flipping each page, being like, ‘I didn’t laugh. I didn’t laugh once. Not one time.'”

Fineman said the sketch made it to the show. She said she had a good time and thought Musk was funny in it.

Musk has since responded to Fineman’s video, claiming he was “worried” that his “SNL” appearance was going to be “so f—ing unfunny that it will make a crackhead sober!”

“Frankly, it was only on the Thursday before the Saturday that ANY of the sketches generated laughs,” Musk wrote on X, before admitting that “it worked out in the end.”

“SNL” cast member Bowen Yang had initially triggered speculation about his coworkers being brought to tears during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” back in August.

“Without naming names, what is the worst ‘SNL’ host behavior you’ve witnessed during your time on the show?” Cohen asked Yang.

“This man, this person, this host, made multiple cast members cry on Wednesday before the table read because he hated the ideas,” Yang responded.

Yang did not specifically identify Musk as that host.
