Enchanted Forest of Light opens in Descanso Gardens, filled with glowing art – Orange County Register

Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge are lit up again for the holidays as the Enchanted Forest of Light transforms a mile of pathways at the tranquil gardens. The path of light has changed this year with the Rose Garden now included in the walk, and all of the past favorite installations are back.

According to Jennifer Errico, marketing manager for Descanso Gardens, construction will be taking place on the lake in the coming year so they decided to open up the Rose Garden for Enchanted Forest of Lights.

“Enchanted is all about us showing off the gardens at night, and we’ve never really been in the Rose Garden,  and that is one of our most beloved places,” Errico said.

Beautiful twirling sculptures created by Los Angeles artist HYBYCOZO are among the attractions visitors can enjoy, placed prominently in the Rose Garden.

After leaving the Rose Garden, visitors will follow the path toward the Symphony of the Oaks, where visitors can create their own music by stepping on the lighted pathways around the trees. Most of the lighted pathways play the same tones but there is one “Easter Egg” path that plays different music, according to Errico.

Visitors should plan to wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket because temperatures at the gardens can dip into the 40s at night during the winter months.

Enchanted is open nightly, except for holidays, from 5:30-10 pm through January 7.

General admission tickets are $30-40 for members and $35-45 for non-members. Advance tickets are required to enter and are not sold on the site. Ticket info can be found at: https://www.descansogardens.org/enchanted-tickets/

Descanso Gardens is located at 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011.
