Based on a true story, Dark Waters is a dramatized tale of Robert Bilott’s case against DuPont, a chemical manufacturing company. The story revolves around the tragic event in recent history where DuPont contaminated a town with hundreds of tons of perfluorooctanoic acid, an unregulated chemical.

Dark Waters sees Mark Ruffalo take on the lead role where he brilliantly portrayed the part of Bilott in the DuPont story. The film was widely praised by critics and fans who understand the implications of capitalism and poisonous chemicals in day-to-day life.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a score of 89% on the Tomatometer and 95% on the Popcornmeter a.k.a, the audience score. The critical consensus reads,

Dark Waters powerfully relays a real-life tale of infuriating malfeasance, honoring the victims and laying blame squarely at the feet of the perpetrators.

Directed by Todd Haynes, environment enthusiasts swear by Dark Waters. After all, it is a horror film in its truest sense – a horror film about the dangers of real life.

It looks like Ruffalo, who doesn’t back down from raising his voice, played two superheroes in a single year – Hulk and Bilott.
