Despite the failure of Marvel’s Eternals, the cast members formed a great bond with each other while promoting the film. Angelina Jolie was definitely the star power in the team, and she used her charm to beat her costars in a staring contest.
Everyone knows Jolie can command people’s attention whenever she enters a room, and it’s even more difficult to dare her to a staring contest because no one would win, not even the stunning Salma Hayek, who is also considered one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood alongside Jolie.
Angelina Jolie Easily Beat Eternals Costars In A Staring Challenge
In 2021, Angelina Jolie and the cast of Eternals faced off in an ultimate staring contest. As posted on Marvel Studios’ official YouTube page, the actress sat on a chair while she waited for her costars to enter the room. One by one, they sit opposite the Maleficent star to try and beat her in the “Eternal Stare Off” game.
“I mean, it’s a staring contest against Angelina freakin’ Jolie,” said Kumail Nanjiani in his opening statement. Then, Brian Tyree Henry, who played Phastos in Eternals, went in first. The actress intimidatingly asked him, “You think you got this?” If Jolie asked anyone that question, it would sure send shivers down their spine, just like when he cracked not too long after the game started.
Makkari actress Lauren Ridloff went in next, then Sprite star Lia McHugh, Sersi actress Gemma Chan, and Druig actor Barry Keoghan. As expected, all of them folded, including Nanjiani, as soon as Jolie stared into their souls.
Salma Hayek, who portrayed Ajak in the Marvel film, cheered herself first before sitting intently while leaning forward. Shockingly, even the From Dusk Till Dawn star easily collapsed at the mere stare of her costar. If someone like Hayek, who can leave people speechless in a room when she walks in, gets beaten by Jolie in a staring game, then the rest of the cast is just in it for the experience, because they surely did not stand a chance.
Funnily enough, Nanjiani admitted he practiced for months before the game, only to sit for a split second because he could not do it. Jolie was just getting started when the actor walked away, leaving the Salt star perplexed.
Fans Are Obsessed With Angelina Jolie’s Stare
Amid the criticism of Eternals and its box office failure, Marvel fans still acknowledged that Jolie had the most commanding and powerful presence in the film. Her gaze alone could kill, figuratively, and fans know exactly that.
On YouTube, keeshiabrie wrote, “she’s hot AND she knows and absolutely owns it”, while romilrh stated, “Angelina knows EXACTLY the kind of energy she gives off with those eyes”.
Furthermore, michellebonardo2095 said, “Her beauty and her elegance alone would make me pass out” while meowmeow1531 argued, “she was looking right into their soul”. Meanwhile, MrHollowfied “would love to get the chance to stare at Angelina Jolie”.
