Sabrina Carpenter is making headlines again. The MTV Video Music Awards are here and they have bought a ton of topics to talk about along with them. Whether it’s a deserving artist being robbed of an award or who wore what, it’s clear that the conversations online are going to be about the VMAs for a few days. What we want to talk about, though, is Sabrina Carpenter who made out with an alien during her performance.
Needless to say, fans were quick to jump to the conclusion that this little stunt was the singer taking a hilarious jab at the 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump. Why? Well, we will have to take a look at the recent debate between him and his opponent Kamala Harris for context.
Sabrina Carpenter Makes Out with an Alien
2024 has been Sabrina Carpenter’s year. From Espresso to Please, Please, Please, to Taste, she dropped one hit song after the other, all of which have found a spot for themselves both in our playlists and the Billboard Hot 100. As of September 14, the three songs occupy the third, fourth, and fifth places on the chart, respectively.
Thus, when Carpenter, who won Song of the Year for Espresso, dropped onto the stage at the VMAs to give a jaw-dropping performance, it was given that she’d perform a medley of these three songs.
While everything went great, there is a specific moment from her performance of Taste that should not go unnoticed – the moment she brought a baddie alien out who was donned in a sexy little dress.
When the alien and the astronaut started getting a little frisky on the stage, Carpenter stepped in and pushed the latter away, proceeding to make out with the alien in front of the crowd. Seems like a downgrade from Jenna Ortega, no?

As the singer’s performance became a hot topic of discussion on the Internet, fans wasted no time in correlating the alien to the ones Donald Trump talked about during the recent debate.
Fans Believe The Alien Was a Swipe at Donald Trump
Trump and Kamala Harris engaged in a heated presidential debate on September 10 and there was a lot to unpack from it. For now, though, let’s focus on the part where he claimed that Harris “wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison.” (via Billboard)
This was a reference to her questionnaire with the American Civil Liberties Union where she was asked if the “transgender and nonbinary people who rely on the state for medical care—including those in prison and immigration detention—will have access to comprehensive treatment associated with gender transition” if she was made President of the United States of America. To this, Harris replied that she would, since it’s important for people to get the medical treatments they deserve, when under the care of the state.
Needless to say, this became a huge meme on the Internet where people took turns to take jabs at the impeached President. He also stated that immigrants were eating people’s pets in Springfield, Ohio.
