Fashion fans cry in horror as they find free hack gets water stains out of Uggs but have already forked out for new ones

WE ALL love wearing our Uggs this time of year – the plush sheep skin keeps our feet toasty no matter the weather.

But there’s one big problem that comes with wearing Ugg boots in winter – the suede can get ruined as soon as they get the slightest bit wet.

Uggs have been the must-have shoe for winter for years

Unlike other materials that can withstand water, suede can quickly be destroyed.

Water can remove the natural oils in suede, making it weak and causing the fabric to fall off over time.

And not only that, the water can often make the dye in suede run, causing unsightly stains.

It’s a problem most of us have faced – leading us to chuck out our favourite winter boots.

But one woman has revealed a clever hack to get them looking good as new again even if water has stained them so you don’t have to throw away the £145 boots.

Allie took to social media to show off her easy hack which is totally free.

She said: “For my girlies about to pull out their old water stained Uggs here is a life hack before you go run and buy new ones.”

The fashion pro first showed her Ugg boots which had huge stains on the front of them – but she whipped out a nail file and began to gently scrub at them.

Within minutes, the stains were completely gone and her Uggs looked good as new.

“I’ve done this too many times,” she captioned the post.

Fashion fans go wild and ‘buy all three colours’ of new ‘drop of the season’ shoes from Primark – they’re so ‘comfy and warm’

The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @alliegoalz with over 7 million views and 784k likes.

People were quick to take to the comments thanking her for the hack while others sobbed that they saw it too late and threw their Uggs out already.

One person wrote: “You are joking I just bought new ones.”

Another commented: “I literally just threw mine away.”

How to look chic on a budget

Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger, and beauty journalist Samantha Silver revealed how you can make your outfits elevated without spending hundreds of pounds.

  1. Don’t ever spend on designer denim: River Island ”always has such a great selection of fashion-forward jeans that follow the current trends”. The high street retailer offers a great range of sizes to fit UK 6 – UK 18, and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
  2. There are no rules for jewels: ”Pick up something at a car boot sale, or charity shop, scroll on Vinted & eBay, snap up something from the clothing section in your local supermarket when doing the food shop or check out high street clothing stores.”
  3. Don’t forget the pre-loved sites: With a rising number of second-hand sites, such as Vinted and Depop, there’s no excuse for not buying – or selling – pre-loved garments. Gemma, for instance, has managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunnies for a mere £17.

“Thank you for sharing this! I never would have thought to clean my Ugg boots this way,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “I’ve just thrown mine away,” with a crying emoji.

“You just saved my Uggs thank you,” claimed a fifth.
