ATLANTA, Ga. (WKBN) – Former Cleveland Indians outfielder Rico Carty has died at the age of 85.
He played in Cleveland from 1974-77.
During his time as an Indian, he piled up 47 home runs and posted a batting average of .303.
In addition to the Indians, he also played for the Braves, Cubs, Blue Jays, A’s and Rangers during a 15-year career.
While playing for the Braves, he won the 1970 National League batting title, hitting .366.
Carty likewise finished second in balloting for the 1964 National League Rookie of the Year Award.
