From Astro Bot to God of War, Fans Are Wondering if Sony Intentionally Missed out on Its Biggest Hits During the PS5 Pro Showcase

Astro Bot just released exclusively for the PlayStation 5 and the gaming community is wondering why it was absent from Mark Cerny’s presentation.

Team Asobi did a wonderful job highlighting the rich history of Sony Interactive Entertainment and the PlayStation brand, and fans are baffled by the omission of its latest project from the official reveal of the highly-anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro. The reveal could have benefitted from a highlight reel showing the improvements in popular and recent games.

There are countless reasons why Sony couldn’t include two of its biggest games in the reel. Perhaps it involves time constraints or the company has no improvements or changes worth sharing.

Astro Bot Is Not the Only Major PlayStation Studios Property to Miss out on the PlayStation 5 Pro Reveal

Sony Interactive Entertainment is renowned for having the best and greatest first-party video games. However, some are more favored than others and the gaming community is starting to get sick and tired of seeing the same games hogging all the action and attention in major reveals like this.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered was the main game used to highlight the major differences between the base model and the PS5 Pro.

The gaming community is convinced the PS5 Pro will be the best place to play upcoming games like GTA 6, as fans expect Rockstar Games to take full advantage of the impressive hardware and horsepower of the Pro model. However, some fans are confused about why Sony didn’t bother including some of its biggest games like God of War Ragnarok in the reel.

Perhaps the company is pushing its focus towards the upcoming PC port to avoid taking the attention away from it, and a dedicated enhanced Pro mode down the line like other first-party titles.

While Astro Bot is fairly new, the God of War franchise has always been at the forefront of the PlayStation brand. Countless developers came knocking at Mark Cerny’s door about their desire for more graphical horsepower in their projects, and the developers of Santa Monica Studio could have given Ragnarok the graphical support it deserves.

Other first-party studio games like Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Gran Turismo, and Horizon Forbidden West will receive an enhanced Pro mode, and it is confusing why the biggest game of the Sony pantheon is being left out.

The base and slim PlayStation 5 versions are already impressive; however, Cerny continues to innovate and aspires to give developers the tools they need to achieve their creative vision.

Black Myth: Wukong was released a few weeks ago for Sony’s console and PC. Unfortunately, some PS5 users had a poor first experience with the game, complaining about poor optimization and awful performance. However, these issues were later patched by the developers at Game Science.

Perhaps the game will benefit greatly from the extra power of the PS5 Pro, and some fans would prefer to see the game in the highlight reel taking advantage of the Pro console.

Game Science could have used the larger GPU, advanced ray tracing, and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. These technological advancements are the main system sellers and what makes the Pro model a worthy option if one were to go out and pick up a new gaming console.
