Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist barely made it three months after their national TV wedding. They found love on Season 1 of The Golden Bachelor, which aired in Fall 2023, and got engaged at the end of the show.
Cut to April, and the reports claimed Turner had officially pulled the plug on his marriage to Theresa Nist. The Golden Bachelor‘s golden boy filed for divorce in Pike Circuit Court, Indiana, on April 12. Citing an “irretrievable breakdown” as per USA Today, Turner and his now ex-wife have already finalized their golden divorce, just five months after their grand TV wedding.
In a Good Morning America interview, Turner explained,
Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.
This mainly happened because the couple succumbed to the distance, and since then, things have been anything but smooth.

Gerry Turner’s reluctance to move closer to the woman he supposedly loved was a real plot twist, especially since he seemed so dedicated on the show. With him in Indiana and Theresa in New Jersey, the distance was bound to be a deal-breaker.
But wait, things get even juicier! Since their split, the “Golden” boy has been out there throwing shade at his ex-wife Nist, left and right. That is not all, he’s all been bragging about his overflowing DMs and flaunting his bike trip to Michigan on Instagram, complete with lots of ladies and even “LOTS of laughs!”
