Ryan Reynolds Wanted Nicolas Cage in Deadpool & Wolverine
Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, the 2024 MCU film had several cameos like the Human Torch, Wesley Snipes’ Blade, and more. According to their plan, Nicolas Cage was going to be one of them.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Reynolds shared that Ben Affleck and Cage were written in the earlier drafts of the script. However, they had to consider the budget of the film.
They were in early drafts. We had versions of that [sequence], but then as it shook out, you’re sort of looking…We’re trying to make the movie responsibly, as well. It’s a big budget. It’s the biggest budget of any of the Deadpool movies.
Reynolds further continued,
But we did talk to Nic Cage. We tried to get him, but he was a no-go…. I would’ve loved him.
Not just Ryan Reynolds, but the whole world would have loved to see Nic Cage return as Ghost Rider in the MCU. The recent rumor has now given fans hope once again but nothing can be confirmed or denied at the moment.
