Goku and Vegeta Deserve More Credit in Dragon Ball After What Bulma Did to Trunks

Owing to Dragon Ball‘s immense influence, Akira Toriyama is considered a legend not only in Japan but worldwide. Dragon Ball arguably ranks among the most popular franchises in the anime community, enthralling fans for decades without leaving a moment of boredom.

With Dragon Ball Daima making its highly anticipated premiere later this Fall, Toei carries forward Akira Toriyama’s lasting legacy, ensuring it lives on forever. Dragon Ball Super brought back the fan-favorite characters on big screens, leaving several fans thrilled with the franchise’s return.

While Vegeta and Goku are respected for their immense strength and glorious acts, Saiyans are often regarded as the worst parents due to their neglectful nature. However, such criticism now seems irrelevant, as Bulma displayed the worst parenting practices with Trunks, which surprisingly many fans overlooked.

Bulma Holds the Spot for the Worst Parent in the Entire Dragon Ball Series

In every iconic series, there’s always one character who faces tons of fan criticism and earns the title of the worst character. For the Dragon Ball fans, that character is Bulma. Back in the DB classic, Akira Toriyama introduced viewers to kid Goku and his early adventures on Earth. During Goku’s quest to find all dragon balls, he encounters Bulma, who introduces him to the legend of the seven mystical gems.

While Bulma’s character became much more likable in DBZ and DBS, many fans found her irresistibly annoying back in the DB classic. Undoubtedly, Bulma’s relentless objectification and s*xualization in the series ruined her character. Apart from her hyper-s*xualized character, Toriyama also showcased Bulma’s worst parenting approach with the upbringing of Trunks.

Despite holding scientific expertise and knowledge, Bulma never encourages Trunks to follow in her footsteps or pursue a studious path. On the other hand, her friend and Goku’s wife, Chi-Chi, always pushed her kids to be studious, especially Gohan, so they did not end up like Goku and her.

Not to mention, Chi-Chi even trained Goten in martial arts, whereas Bulma was more busy with her own self rather than nurturing Trunks. Also, back in the Android Saga, Bulma brought her newborn baby onto the battlefield, making many fans question her motherly instincts.

In comparison to Bulma, Vegeta emerges as a better parent. In Dragon Ball Super, fans witnessed Vegeta’s adoring nature and selfless love for his newborn daughter, Bulla. Just after Bulla’s birth, Vegeta develops a strong attachment to her and becomes very protective of her wellbeing.

Not to forget, he joined the Tournament of Power to save his family from annihilation. Vegeta is actually a better parent than fans often realize, especially since Bulma’s motherly instincts were practically nonexistent.

Dragon Daima Could Feature the Biggest Showdown: Beerus vs. Omega Shenron

In Dragon Ball GT, Akira Toriyama introduced fans to a formidable opponent where victory seemed uncertain for Z fighters. Omega Shenron was the final villain in DB GT who even surpassed SSJ 4 Goku in terms of strength.

Amid Dragon Ball GT and Daima’s similarities, fans are curious to see the return of an iconic villain, Omega Shenron. Omega Shenron was so immensely powerful that Goku and Vegeta had to undergo the fusion technique (SSJ4 Gogeta) just to match his unparalleled strength.

Back in DBS, Shenron trembles in fear just by Beerus’ mere presence. Since Omega Shenron is the result of the evil negative energy of the original Eternal Dragon, fans are expecting the iconic DB GT villain to finally confront his fear and take down the God of Destruction in the upcoming DB: Daima.

Dragon Ball is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
