Grove City star signs with nationally-ranked program

GROVE CITY, Pa. (WKBN) — Grove City senior Jack Ogoreuc has signed his National Letter of Intent to Division I powerhouse West Virginia University Rifle Team on Nov. 13.

Ogoreuc recently represented the United States in the International Shooting Sport Federation Junior World Championships in Lima, Peru in Fall 2024. He was 1 of 5 U.S. male riflemen who represented the U.S. in the tournament.

The U.S. placed Fifth in the medal standings with 10 medals and two golds.

Ogoreuc also recently competed in the Junior Olympics and the USA Shooting National Championships.

He took home two gold medals at the national championships in late June 2024 in Fort Moore, GA. The Grove City standout also won gold in the Under-18 Male Smallbore and the Air Rifle competitions.

The Grove City standout joins a program that through Nov. 18 is ranked No. 4 in the nation, according to the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association poll.

The Mountaineers are the winningest Rifle program in the country with 19 NCAA National Championships. WVU was most recently the runner-up to 2024 NCAA National Champions TCU in March.
