LAS VEGAS, Nevada (WKBN) – Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez and closer Emmanuel Clase were named to the All-MLB First Team on Thursday night at the 2024 All-MLB Awards show in Las Vegas.
In addition, Clase was unanimously voted as the recipient of the 2024 Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year Award. It is the second straight year that he won the award.
Meanwhile, Ramirez led MLB third basemen in the following categories this season: hits (173), runs (114), total bases (333), home runs (39), RBI (118), and stolen bases (41).
In addition, he also led AL third basemen in batting average (.279) and doubles (39).
Clase, who was named an All-Star for the third consecutive year, posted a 4-2 record with a 0.61 ERA with 47 saves. He piled up 66 strikeouts across 74 appearances this season.
The first and second team selections were determined by a combination of fan voting and voting from a decorated panel of media members, broadcasters, former players and other officials throughout the game.
This season, Ramirez led MLB third basemen in: hits (173), runs (114), total bases (333), home runs (39), RBI (118), and stolen bases (41).
In addition, he also led AL third basemen in batting average (.279) and doubles (39).
The Guardians were joined by the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees who each had a Major League leading two first-team selections.
