CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Cleveland Guardians third-baseman Jose Ramirez won an American League Silver Slugger Award for the fifth time in his career on Tuesday night.
Silver Slugger awards are voted on by Major League managers and coaches. They are given to the top offensive player at each position in each league.
The other two finalists for the award were Boston’s Rafael Devers and Houston’s Alex Bregman.
This season, Ramirez led MLB third basemen in: hits (173), runs (114), total bases (333), home runs (39), RBI (118), and stolen bases (41).
In addition, he also led AL third basemen in batting average (.279) and doubles (39).
Ramirez previously won a Silver Slugger Award in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2022.
