The team behind the eatery took to social media to announce they will be pulling down the shutters after a decade in business.

In a statement shared on Saturday, staff wrote: “After an incredible 10 years, Steak & Cherry is closing its doors.

“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful customers for their support.

“Serving you has been an absolute honour – thank you for being part of our journey. We hope you’ll join us in our next adventure.”

The last day of trading will be Sunday, October 12.

Gutted punters flocked to the comments to react to the announcement, with many recalling their fond memories of the late-night eatery.

One wrote: “Sad times for all. Had many a great meal here, especially after midnight.”

A second put: “My mum and I will definitely miss our meals there before the theatre. Hopefully, you will open up somewhere else we can visit.”

A third added: “Gutted to hear this, we came for dinner every time we went to a show at the King’s Theatre.”

A fourth weighed in: “Sorry to hear this, we loved coming here when we came to Glasgow. Great food and cocktails.”

It comes as Scotland’s hospitality and retail sectors continue to struggle with both businesses and punters feeling the squeeze from rising costs.
