The question about Shanks’ intentions in One Piece has been one of the biggest mysteries for fans. Ever since he had a meetup with the Five Elders, fans have been skeptical about Shanks’ character and whether he is on the good side or bad. While some fans want Shanks to be the intended mentor that he is portrayed by Eiichiro Oda, others want to see him bring the biggest betrayal.
Fans have also developed many bizarre theories to prove Shanks’ innocence, but none of them had much evidence to support them. Be it the ‘evil twin’ theory or the ‘loyalty to his former Captain’ theory, Shanks’ character development has been confusing fans for so many years. But now Oda might have ended all the confusion regarding Shanks.
The spoilers for the upcoming One Piece chapter 1126 have recently been released on the internet, and they have hinted that Shanks is going full throttle against Luffy. He might have just started a war by attacking one of Luffy’s friends and the captain of the second ship of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
The Red-Haired Pirates Destroy Bartolomeo And His Crew
Although Bartolomeo is probably the biggest fan of Luffy in the One Piece pirate world, he probably doesn’t know about Luffy’s relationship with Shanks. This was proved when he declared war against the Red-Haired Pirates by burning their flag, replacing it with Luffy’s, and wreaking havoc in their territory.
During the Wano arc, Shanks and his crew decide to confront Bartolomeo and prove to him why they are the oldest Emperor crew in One Piece. The spoilers of Chapter 1126 disclose this confrontation.

The Red-Haired Pirates were able to easily defeat Bartolomeo and crew, which does not come as a shock, but they did something else that was quite intriguing.
The Red-Haired Pirates gave Bartolomeo poison and asked him to kill Luffy in a month. But Bartolomeo, being the loyal follower he is, decides to drink the poison himself and prove his loyalty, but it turns out to be fake. While Shanks was impressed with this, they still destroyed his ship for attacking his territory.
Has Shanks Declared War Against Luffy?
Destroying one of the ships of Luffy’s Grand Fleet might have been a bold move from Shanks, as he knows very well that it would not sit well with Luffy. When Luffy’s Grand Fleet was formed, all the captains of different crews promised to help Luffy whenever he called them, and Luffy made the same promise to each of them.
Although Luffy doesn’t agree with the idea of a Grand Fleet, he still feels that all of them who are sailing under his flag are his friends, especially Bartolomeo, who is his biggest fan. Therefore, there is a big possibility that Luffy might change his course and go on to help Bartolomeo after his battle with Shanks.
The main aspect of this battle, however, is the fact that Shanks knows that destroying one of Luffy’s friends’ crew would enrage him and he might very well launch an attack on the Red-Haired Pirates. Irrespective of that, Shanks still attacked Bartolomeo, which hints that he might be the evil One Piece villain that the narrative has been hinting at for a long time.
