Donald Trump won fair and square against Kamala Harris in the U.S. Presidential election. Trump was one controversial figure long before the election, which caused many people to have a dislike towards the President-elect. Interestingly, many from the film and music industry did not take it well that people voted Trump back to power.
Apart from a select few, Hollywood mourned the loss faced by Kamala Harris, whom most of the stars appeared to have voted for. Many political analysts pointed out that the celebrity endorsement might’ve had the opposite effect on the Democratic re-election campaign.
Christina Applegate
Christina Applegate could not hold back on her emotions after Donald Trump swept the 2024 U.S. elections. Taking her concerns to X, she shared that her daughter was sobbing because “her rights as a woman may be taken away.” In another post, she called for her followers who “voted against female rights [and] against disability rights” to unfollow her.
She shared that she would also shut down her fan account. She further engaged in a heated exchange between some users in the comments. In a final post, she apologized for her actions.

Jamie Lee Curtis shared that the election results actually highlighted “what America and democracy looks like.” Curtis shared that it will be a difficult and restrictive period ahead for many minority groups and young people. She extended her help to anyone fearing that their rights would be denied.
She further shared that the results also meant that people should keep on fighting for women and children and their futures. She shared that people should fight against tyranny, one fight at a time, regardless of the outcome.
She concluded her post by calling everyone to “be an American today” and to be gentle with others and oneself.
Mark Hamill
Mark Hamill has long been critical of Donald Trump and endorsed Kamala Harris during this election. After Trump’s victory, Hamill took to X to express his disappointment. He shared that the people of the country didn’t get the leaders they deserved. He wrote:

Wendell Pierce
Suits and The Wire fame Wendell Pierce weighed in his opinion on how the result would impact the judicial system. He shared that the Supreme Court will be changed for a generation. Pierce shared that the court would be made partisan and highly conservative. He shared that Trump will likely inflict irreparable damage to the American institutions.

Viola Davis did not weigh in on the result per se but shared a message for Kamala Harris after her loss. In an Instagram post, she shared a photo of Harris with the caption, “Thank you for your bravery @kamalaharris.” She further shared that she was proud of her.

However, he became emotional sharing that it was a terrible night for women, children, and immigrants in the country. He shared:

Jimmy Fallon decided to tap into humor to address the situation. He shared that “America decided to get back with a crazy ex.” He shared on The Tonight Show that everyone was going to have a rough Thanksgiving this year. Fallon joked:

Billie Eilish
Right after the election results, Billie Eilish posted to her Instagram Story, “it’s a war on women.” Later, she took a moment out of her Nashville concert to address the election result. In a TikTok video from the concert, Eilish shared about Trump, “Someone who hates women so, so deeply is about to be the president of the United States of America” (via The Independent).
50 Cent
While he did not endorse Donald Trump during the election, 50 Cent was quick to post a photo of him with the President-elect on Instagram. He captioned the post, “I don’t care how the fight goes, I’m leaving with the winner sh*t. I still don’t know what’s going on.”
Cardi B
Cardi B wrote a note on Threads to Kamala Harris appreciating her for running the race “with honesty and with integrity.” She shared that Harris really put up a fight against all the odds stacked against her. She further credited Harris for changing her mind.
She also thanked Harris for showing her, her daughters, and women across the country that a woman of color could run for the President of the United States.
