A house fire in Avon on Thursday night sparked a small brush fire.
Firefighters responded to a home on Timber Lane at 5:10 p.m. on the report of a structure fire and found a “well involved” garage fire extending to the home, according to the Avon Volunteer Fire Department.
Fire officials said all of the home’s occupants were accounted for and uninjured.
The blaze promoted a mutual aid response from the Tunxis Hose Company No. 1, Farmington Fire Department and the Canton Fire Department. The Avon Police Department also responded.
The fire led to wires from the home coming down and sparking a small brush fire. The fire was quickly knocked down, fire officials said.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
