We’ll be going over how to best play with the Heavy Class, the kinds of guns you should equip, and what approach you should take when engaging the enemies of the Imperium. With the right loadout and strategy, you can become an unstoppable force on the battlefield!

Space Marine 2 Multiplayer Guide on Picking the Right Primary Weapons for the Heavy

Given that this class is the only one in the game that can’t wield a melee weapon, picking the right guns for the mission is essential for success. The Heavy Class Space Marine 2 is all about making a big impact to ensure control is maintained on the battlefield. The ideal way to do this is to choose a primary weapon that offers a big magazine and a fast rate of fire.

An ideal pick would be the Heavy Bolter, which boasts a 450-ammo capacity and an 8+ fire rate. It’s the automatic version of the signature Bolt Rifle but spits out explosive shells instead of regular ammo. This gun doesn’t need to be reloaded, but watch out for overheating, which will leave you and the classes you’re supposed to protect, such as the Tactical marines, vulnerable.

Given the propensity to overheat, ensure you get the Fast Venting and Perfect Cooling perks to improve thermal regulation. The Increased Capacity is also a must-have skill for a class that lives and dies by its bullet reserve. Heavy Might will also ensure you deal more damage when in the dedicated Heavy Stance, which should also increase your accuracy.

Other options for the primary weapon are the Heavy Plasma Incinerator or the Multi-Melta. Keep in mind the Multi-Melta is a super close-range weapon, which might not be ideal for the Heavy Class as it lacks a melee weapon.

Heavy Class Space Marine 2 Secondary Weapon Choices

For a secondary weapon, the Bolt Pistol or Plasma Pistol are both solid choices. Both have decent ammo reserves and work well in close quarters. These will be your emergency armaments, not to be used to deal any primary damage, as the difficulty in the game on certain missions spikes suddenly.

Along with the faster cooldown and increased ammo perks for your secondary, look at investing in Supercharged Shot, Rampage, and Retaliation to increase your damage output. You can also use several class perks to help you get the upper hand in combat.

Heavy Class Space Marine 2 Tips on Perks

The Class Ability – Iron Halo – can be very useful in reducing the damage from incoming fire. The shield only protects your front, so make sure there’s no enemy behind when you activate it. Any player standing behind the shield can use its protective capabilities, and the user can get into the designated Heavy Stance, making it one of the best defensive abilities in the game.

Make sure you get the Restoration class perk, which will allow you to regenerate an armor segment on killing 10 enemies quickly. Overwhelming Power gives a 10% damage buff to your compatriots when you activate Iron Halo, and Encompassing Aegis will reduce the damage they take from ranged attacks by 20%.

Conversion Field also helps your teammates’ abilities recharge 50% faster when the Iron Halo is active, so you want to be using this ability as much as possible.

Overall, while the Heavy might seem like a class to use in close quarters, it is more of a long-distance damage dealer. By raining bullets on the enemy, players can easily thin the herd and take pressure off other classes as they go in for the kill.
