CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) — Friends of Fido hosted the 12th annual ‘Howliday’ Vendor Show at the Tippecanoe Country Club on Saturday in Canfield.
The event featured over 50 craft vendors and raised money for dogs at the Mahoning County Dog Pound.
Each year the nonprofit raises money to help with medical support, training and getting the dogs adopted.
“All the rescues around here are full. The pound has over 80 dogs right now — they’re at max capacity,” said Brooke Vaughn, a Friends of Fido board member. “All the money that we make here goes to take care of those dogs and helps us promote those dogs, help us let the community know that these dogs are available, find them homes to make room for more, to make room for all the other dogs that will be coming in.”
Vaughn says Friends of Fido has spent over $200,000 helping the dogs of Mahoning County this year.
