EWAN McGregor has applied to renovate a lodge which sits on the grounds of his luxury £2m Scots castle.
The Star Wars actor, 53, has outlined proposals with Perth and Kinross Council to do up the building at his Carse of Gowrie retreat.
He wants to refurbish existing windows of the category-B property and to install new double glazing units.
McGregor also wants to remove old PVC windows and replace them with new timber sash to match what is already in place.
Property records show the Trainspotting favourite bought the lodge last May for £2.35 million after it had been on the market for offers over £2.15 million.
It comes with a gate lodge and a courtyard of outbuildings and has more than 15,000 sq ft of living space on three floors, with a two-bedroom flat, stores and a wine cellar on the lower ground floor.

The accommodation includes an entrance hall, three reception rooms, a billiards room, family room, study and a 1930s hothouse/conservatory.
Since buying the home, he has been given permission by the council to erect a replacement garage and to create a new master bedroom and bathroom suite.
McGregor shot to fame as Mark Renton in Danny Boyle’s 1996 classic Trainspotting and was raised in Crieff where his parents were teachers.
He then achieved global stardom as Jedi Obi Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy between 1999–2005, reprising the role in Disney’s 2022 miniseries.
McGregor previously revealed he had taken advice from fellow Scot Craig Ferguson over pining for his homeland.
He said: “What I miss the most about Scotland, is of course my family.
“My mum and dad and my brother (Colin) and his wife Sarah and my nephew and my niece.
“I miss the landscape. I miss the air in Scotland. I miss the smell of the rain, the smell of the green and the colours of Scotland.
“And the people and the culture. I could just keep going on and on.”
The actor left Scotland in his late teens to move to London to pursue his acting ambitions and later moved to the US after his Hollywood career took off.
Perth and Kinross Council are expected to issue a decision in due course.
