Huntsville woman dies 4 days after crash on I-65 in Birmingham

A woman died over the weekend, four days after she was injured in a two-vehicle crash on I-65 in Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Shonda Lavetta King. She was 49 and lived in Huntsville.

The wreck happened at 10:12 p.m. Sept. 10 on I-65 northbound near 32nd Avenue.

King was taken to UAB Hospital where she died at 5:19 p.m. Saturday,

The investigation is ongoing by Birmingham police.
