Iconic candy is making a return after 14 years. But there’s a catch

If you were a fan of Altoid Sours, you’re in luck. After years of petitions, the beloved candy is making a return. But there’s a catch.

The New York Post reports the candies will only be on sale at Cracker Barrel’s Old Country Store and will be sold under a different name. The story cites a post from the popular Instagram account Snackolator. Earlier this month, the account revealed the brand Iconic Candy, LLC plans to spearhead the relaunch of the sour confections. According to Snackolator, Iconic Candy is not affiliated with Altoids or its parent company Mars Wrigley, but the brand plans to use the same recipe to produce the treats.

The new candies, dubbed “Retro Sours” will come in three flavors: mango, tangerine, and citrus.

So far, fans of the original Altoids Sours seem to be thrilled by the news of a revamp, reports Pennlive.com.

“The roof of my mouth is ready,” reads a comment on a Reddit thread announcing the candy’s comeback.

Retro Sours will start appearing in Cracker Barrell stores later this month.
