Is this England v Celtic or Rangers v Ireland say bemused fans as Old Firm supporters taunt each other in Dublin

FANS have been left bemused after a video emerged of Old Firm fans taunting each other – at an INTERNATIONAL match.

A clip has gone viral on social media showing a Rangers fan and a Celtic fan spotting each other at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

That was the venue for Saturday evening’s Nations League clash between the Republic of Ireland and England.

England, being managed by ex-Ireland midfielder Lee Carsley for the first time, came out on top 2-0.

Declan Rice and Jack Grealish were the goalscorers for England – two players who had previously represented the Republic of Ireland internationally before switching their footballing allegiance.

But now a video has emerged from the stands during the clash in Dublin.

And it’s one that’s left plenty of punters bemused!

Widely shared, including by Paddy Power, the clip first shows a group of England fans singing “Rule Britannia.”

The camera then zooms in on one fan who is holding aloft an England flag with a large Rangers crest on it.

It then pans to the left and it becomes evident who the Gers flag-waving fan is aiming his attention towards.

A fan in the Ireland end wearing a Celtic top comes into the image, and it’s clear the two fans are taunting each other.

The Rangers fan can be seen holding his flag aloft high above his head with the badge visible.

In response, the Celtic fan can be seen holding up the badge on his shirt as he looks directly towards the Gers supporter.

It’s fair to say the clip has left fans somewhat baffled!

Plenty replied to the video seemingly oblivious as to why fans representing the Old Firm teams were having beef at an international match.

One asked: “What is this? England vs Celtic? Rangers vs Ireland?”

A second queried: “Why’s someone wearing a club top to an international game?”

A third said: “So Glasgow Rangers is an English club? And Glasgow Celtic is an Irish club?” I get it now.”

While another simply asked: “What’s this all about?”
