SOAP fans will be disappointed as ITV has pulled Emmerdale from the air to make way for football next Thursday.
The soap has been relegated to the sidelines to make way for England‘s UEFA Nations League match with Greece.
As the nation tunes in to watch how England will fare, Emmerdale fans must wait until the following night, Friday Nov 15 to get their usual Dales fix.
It is not the first time bosses have moved programmes around to make way for sporting action.
They regularly give programmes the red card when it comes to football.
Only last month, Emmerdale and Coronation Street were left on the bench as the Lionesses played at Wembley Stadium.
When Emmerdale does return after its night off next week, fans can enjoy family drama unfolding when Stephanie (Georgia Jay), the long-lost daughter of Caleb Milligan (William Ash) and Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly), turns up in the village to stir some trouble.
Her arrival is sure to cause a fuss, and her grandad Anthony (played by Nicholas Day) will have something to say about it, too.
But while the disruption is frustrating for followers of the long-running soap, footie fans will be thrilled as the match marks a crucial game for the Three Lions after England’s shock defeat to Greece last month.
England knows they must win in Athens to return to the top group in the Nations League.
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
