EJ Crowell rushed for 251 yards on 24 carries to lead Class 4A, No. 1-ranked Jackson to a 20-13 victory over over 7A Baker on Thursday at Clem Richardson Stadium in Mobile.
Crowell scored on a 66-yard touchdown run on the Aggies opening drive of the second half, as he gained 174 of his 251 yards after intermission. Jackson (3-1) won its third straight game since falling to Class 6A, No. 1 Saraland in the season opener.
“It was good for us to come in here and (win in) this atmosphere,” Jackson coach Cody Flournoy said. “I compare it to going on the road for an SEC road game. Things may not bounce our way and adversity is going to be there, but how we overcome things is the most important lesson.”
