Japan’s Izu Islands hit by small tsunami after 5.9 magnitude earthquake


Japan’s remote Izu Islands south of Tokyo were hit by a small tsunami after a 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck near the uninhabited island of Torishima, about 600 kilometers (370 miles) south of the Japanese capital Tokyo, early Tuesday morning local time. The quake struck in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles).
