JoJo Siwa came into the limelight first with the Lifetime show Dance Moms, and then when she joined Nickelodeon as a young star. With the latter, she began a successful journey, becoming a star with her ability to sing, dance, and act. She was a favorite among kids stars and gained a lot of fans through her various projects.
But it was after she left Nickelodeon and began a career on her own, that things started to change. The rebranding that seemed to happen overnight, was first debuted at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. And since then, things are going in quite a different direction for the young star, not that she seems to care about it.
JoJo Siwa Is Least Bothered About What People Are Saying About Her
JoJo Siwa‘s debut post Nickelodeon kind of became a meme on the internet. The black mesh bodysuit, the fauxhawk, and the KISS-inspired make-up look in dark colors did little to help. But from what we hear, she is hardly concerned about becoming a meme, or even a laughing stock for that matter. In a new cover story for Ladygunn, Siwa said:
I’m an attention wh*re. My favorite thing to do on this earth is to entertain and to make people smile and laugh, whether or not they are laughing with me or laughing at me. Obviously, no one likes being hated, but I enjoy being entertaining, and that is how people are entertained.
Now, where have we heard this before? This particular sentiment of any publicity is good publicity, and any attention is attention after all thought is not Siwa’s alone. We all remember Miley Cyrus’ post-Disney days. And who can forget that VMA performance? But is this all really necessary to keep oneself in the limelight?
JoJo Siwa Does Not Need People To Like Her
This whole idea of being an entertainer at any cost, even your own, has become JoJo Siwa’s main motto. She is least bothered about what people say about her, or if anyone is making fun of her. As long as they are laughing about something related to her, even if it is at her expense, she is happy about it. She further told Ladygunn:
I just signed with new management, and they’re great, amazing people. They were like, ‘All right, we got to get people to rally around you and really start to like you.’ And I was like, ‘Oh no, that’s not the point.’
As long as she has the views and the numbers are going up, she is doing her job well. At least that’s all the Guilty Pleasure singer is concerned about. And well, who are we to disagree?
