Kalen DeBoer gives Alabama injury updates for Malachi Moore, Qua Russaw and Richard Young

Kalen DeBoer gives Alabama injury updates for Malachi Moore, Qua Russaw and Richard Young

Alabama football took down Wisconsin Saturday, winning 42-10 in Madison to pass its first road test of the Kalen DeBoer era. After the game, Alabama’s head coach gave an update on some of the Crimson Tide’s injuries.

First, Malachi Moore. The safety and leader of UA’s secondary went down in the second half, briefly went to the injury tent and then headed to the locker room.

He never returned to the game.

“Malachi got hit to the head,” DeBoer said. “So I think we’re just going through the, probably the protocol with him. It helps having the bye week here, so I’m thinking he’ll be alright and be fine.”

Also on the Crimson Tide defense, linebacker Qua Russaw got rolled up on, and went off the field without putting pressure on his right leg. DeBoer confirmed the leg was the issue after the game.

“Russaw, lower leg I know,” DeBoer said. “I don’t know exactly where, but I know it’s lower. We’ll just continue to evaluate with him.”

On offense, Richard Young went out in the second half. In similar fashion to Russaw, he had to be helped off the field.

“Richard Young I think same thing,” DeBoer said. “Lower leg. I think actually very similar, below the knee area. So we’ll continue to evaluate those guys. Definitely ood to have a couple weeks here getting ready.”

Alabama moved to 3-0 on the season Saturday. The Crimson Tide has a week off, before facing No. 1 Georgia in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 28.
