Kickoff time, TV network announced for Alabama football vs. Vanderbilt

Kickoff time, TV network announced for Alabama football vs. Vanderbilt

Alabama football’s Oct. 5 game at Vanderbilt has an official kickoff time. The Crimson Tide and Commodores will begin at 3:15 p.m. CT, the SEC announced on Monday.

The matchup in Nashville will be Alabama’s first in that time slot this season. It had initially been announced as part of the “afternoon” time slot, meaning it could have seen a kickoff time set for anywhere between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. CT.

Alabama and Vanderbilt’s game will be aired on the SEC Network. Other league games in the afternoon of Oct. 5 include South Carolina vs. Ole Miss and Georgia vs. Auburn, which will be aired on ESPN and ABC respectively.

Before the trip to Nashville, Alabama has its toughest test of the season. The Crimson Tide is in prime time on Saturday, facing Georgia in Bryant-Denny Stadium, with kickoff for that game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.

Vanderbilt has exceeded expectations so far this season, though it will almost certainly still be a significant home underdog when the Tide comes to town. Led by New Mexico State transfer quarterback Diego Pavia, the Commodores are 2-2, with a win over Virginia Tech.

VU took No. 7 Missouri to double-overtime on Saturday, narrowly losing on a missed field goal. Clark Lea’s team is off this week.

Alabama is 63-18-4 all-time against Vanderbilt, and hasn’t lost in the matchup since 1984. The last meeting was a 55-3 Alabama drubbing in Tuscaloosa.
