So, one can imagine their shock when Kendrick Lamar was announced as the 2025 performer! Even Lil Wayne’s team was blindsided by the decision. Fabian Marasciullo, his manager, took to his Instagram story to share his disbelief and set the record straight. He wrote, (via X.com)

In interviews including YG, Rolling Stone, and many more over the past year, Lil Wayne has been pretty vocal about his ambition to perform at Super Bowl LIX, to say the least. He’s emphasized how crucial it is for a New Orleans artist to take the stage at such a monumental event, and he’s shared just how deeply meaningful this opportunity would be for him.
So, it was definitely a surprise for the Lil Wayne fans to hear Kendrick Lamar snagging the Super Bowl LIX halftime show. But Master P has a plan that could potentially solve this issue, he has requested Lamar to include Wayne in his performance. 2024 Has Been a Killer Year for Kendrick Lamar!
This year has been pretty killer for Kendrick Lamar, kicking off with a beef amongst the legends, Drake, Lamar, and J. Cole. While J. Cole gracefully bowed out of the feud, Lamar and Drake went head-to-head in a seriously intense showdown. Lowkey but high key, Lamar pretty much obliterated Drake, and in the process delivered one of the year’s biggest hits with Not Like Us.
Now, Lamar is set to keep this winning streak going with the Super Bowl halftime show, this will be marked as his second appearance. His first came during Dr. Dre’s epic 2022 all-star lineup, where he shared the stage with Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent.
