The derby between Antwerp and Beerschot has, as feared, gotten out of hand. The visiting fans continued to smoke bombs on the field and referee Lothar D’hondt decided to stop the match permanently. The Bosuil is now empty, but the atmosphere outside the stadium is still grim – the police even had to use water cannon.
