YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Workers at the Mahoning County Board of Elections are once again counting ballots.
They are counting the provisional ballots from this month’s election as well as late-arriving or overseas military ballots.
There are more than 1,700 of them that are now being opened, processed and added to the unofficial totals from November 5.
Of special interest is the race for county prosecutor, which ended on Election Night with a margin of only about 800 votes between Republican Lynn Maro and Democrat incumbent Gina DeGenova.
The counting started Tuesday morning and is expected to finish Tuesday afternoon in time for the board members to reconvene later to release those results.
