Malmo vs Rangers preview
Malmo and Rangers both entered European competition this season with their sights firmly set on Champions League involvement.
But the pair ultimately fell short in qualifying to Sparta Prague and Dynamo Kiev, respectively. Now, they face one another here.
Malmo are already 24 games into their season and are flying high in the Swedish top flight, sitting 11 points clear of second place Djurgarden.
They’ve won their last two home games 4-0 and are a tough nut to crack at home.
But Gers’ form is slowly but surely getting there and they’ll be hoping to open their campaign with a good result.
They’ve won four of their last five games without conceding a goal, with the Celtic thumping the only other game in that last-five game spell.
Their return to Ibrox went according to plan too, with a 3-0 comfortable win over Dundee to reach the Premier Sports Cup semi final.
But they’ve won just one of their last five away games which has to change.

Rangers are struggling a bit away from home heading into this European clash.
With Malmo looking strong at home domestically, this will provide a tough task for Philippe Clement’s side.
