Two people are dead after their vehicle crashed into a guardrail and burst into flames on Interstate 95 in Groton Friday night, officials said.
On Friday at 9:20 p.m., a red 2019 Dodge Ram carrying a man and a woman, was traveling northbound along I-95 when it attempted to take exit 87, state police said. The Dodge then ran off the left side of the exit ramp and collided with a guardrail and tree, according to state police.
Upon collision, the vehicle burst into flames, killing the male driver and female passenger who were pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. The victims have not been identified.
State police said the crash remains under investigation.
