A MAN has been charged after a teenager was allegedly raped in a Scots city.
The 16-year-old girl was allegedly attacked in Dundee in the early hours of last Sunday morning.
It is claimed the alleged incident happened in the Cowgate area of the city.
Detectives launched a massive hunt for the alleged attacker.
A man, 31, has since been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged rape.
He will appear in the dock at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in Dundee.
“The incident was reported to have happened between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday, 10 November, 2024, in the Cowgate area.
“He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday, 18 November, 2024.”
CID officers probing the alleged incident praised the public for their help with the investigation.
A police presence will still be in the area as cops continue their probe.
Detective Sergeant Shaunni Morris said: “We would like to extend our thanks to the public for their assistance with this enquiry.
“Officers will remain in the area while enquiries continue.”
