DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Police say a 23-year-old is facing drug charges in Decatur after officers found fentanyl and marijuana in his possession.
Decatur Police said that Samuel Shawn Taylor was developed as a suspect during an investigation that began in October following complaints about distribution of illegal drugs in the city limits.
The department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit obtained probable cause for a search of Taylor’s home.
During a search on November 14, police said that a quantity of fentanyl, fentanyl pressed pills, marijuana, and a firearm were found in Taylor’s possession.
Taylor is charged with two counts of trafficking in illegal drugs, second-degree possession of marijuana, and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Morgan County Jail with bond set at $150,600.
DPD said that the Morgan County Drug Enforcement Unit assisted them in the investigation.
