A man was found dead early Tuesday from a car crash that happened the night before.
Dothan police were called about 6 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a person down in the 300 block of Virginia Drive
When officers, they found the victim on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead on the scene and had been there a period of time, said Lt. Scott Owens.
The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Frederick Lamar Morris of Dothan.
Owens said Morris was last seen by a family member the night before.
The investigation showed he was driving a mini bike northbound on Virginia Drive when the minii bike left the road and collided with a utility pole.
Morris, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected.
Owens said alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Morris’ family while they mourn the loss of a loved one,’’ Owens said.
