Police are investigating a drive-by shooting on Friday night that left one man dead in Hartford.
Ofiicers responded to the area of 180 Seymour Street around 11:42 p.m. on Friday following a ShotSpotter notification, according to the Hartford Police Department.
Arriving officers located an unresponsive man, later identified as 39-year-old Joshua Ortega, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
According to police, it was determined that the gunshots fired came from a passing vehicle.
The Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are conducting the ongoing investigation.
